CISO Briefing

Terms of Service — Last updated: 25 April 2026

By downloading or using CISO Briefing, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. The service

CISO Briefing is an iOS application that generates personalised daily cybersecurity briefings by fetching RSS feeds, generating a spoken briefing script using the Claude AI API (Anthropic), and converting it to audio using the OpenAI text-to-speech API. The app is operated by Edwin Franse, a private individual based in the Netherlands.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old to use CISO Briefing. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Subscriptions

CISO Briefing is available through a monthly subscription purchased via the App Store. The subscription grants access to the briefing generation service for the duration of the active billing period.

All purchases are final unless required otherwise by applicable law or Apple's refund policy. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via your Apple ID settings.

If you do not have an active subscription, you can still use the app by providing your own API keys (see section 4).

4. Own API keys

You may optionally provide your own Anthropic API key (for briefing generation) and/or your own OpenAI API key (for text-to-speech). When you use your own keys, they are used directly without going through our proxy service. No subscription is required in that case. You are solely responsible for any costs incurred on your Anthropic or OpenAI account.

5. Payments and refunds

All payments are processed by Apple via the App Store. We do not handle payment data directly. Refund requests must be submitted through Apple. For assistance: reportaproblem.apple.com

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. AI-generated content

Briefings are generated by an AI model (Anthropic Claude) based on publicly available RSS feed articles. The content is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute professional security advice. Always verify critical information from primary sources before acting on it.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of AI-generated briefings.

8. Availability

We strive to keep CISO Briefing available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be unavailable due to maintenance, Anthropic API outages, OpenAI API outages, or other factors beyond our control. No refunds are provided for temporary unavailability.

9. Intellectual property

CISO Briefing, its logo, and all associated content are owned by Edwin Franse. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the app or its branding without prior written consent.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, Edwin Franse is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of CISO Briefing, including but not limited to decisions made based on AI-generated briefing content.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or this website. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
