CISO Briefing does not collect any personally identifiable information. No account is required. No name, email address, or location is ever stored.
1. Who is responsible
CISO Briefing is operated by Edwin Franse, a private individual based in the Netherlands. For privacy-related questions, contact: privacy@cisobriefing.ai
2. What data we collect
When you use CISO Briefing, the following anonymous data may be sent to our servers:
Anonymous device ID — a randomly generated identifier created at first launch. It is not linked to your Apple ID, name, or any personal information. You can reset it by deleting and reinstalling the app.
Usage events — for example: briefing type generated (sitrep or in-depth), duration, number of tokens used, app version, and iOS version.
Error reports — anonymous technical errors to help us improve stability.
We do not collect: your name, email, location, contacts, microphone input, or any content you type into the app.
3. Why we collect this data
To understand how the app is used and improve the service
To validate our pricing model and ensure the service remains financially sustainable
Anthropic (api.anthropic.com) — your cybersecurity news articles and briefing prompt are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the briefing script. Anthropic's privacy policy applies: anthropic.com/privacy
Apple — all in-app purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment details. Apple's privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy
5. Data retention
Anonymous analytics data is retained for a maximum of 12 months. No personal data is retained because none is collected.
6. Your rights (GDPR)
As a resident of the European Union, you have the following rights:
Right of access — you can request what anonymous data is associated with your device ID.
Right to erasure — you can request deletion of your anonymous data by contacting us with your device ID (visible in the app under Settings → Usage).
Right to object — you can object to the processing of your data.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@cisobriefing.ai. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens): autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl
7. Children
CISO Briefing is intended for professional use and is not directed at children under the age of 17.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
